19 March 2009
An Exhibition is taking place at 48 Chancery Lane from Thursday 19 March to Friday 17 April 2009. All those interested in the future of Chancery Lane are encouraged to attend the Exhibition and express their views.
On Friday 19 September Chancery Lane has been chosen to showcase the London Borough of Camden’s contribution to European Mobility Week.
Each year Camden holds a Car free day, which is an international event which aims give to people who live and work in the area a chance to consider how their street might look and work with fewer cars. This will be Camden’s 8th year for holding such an event and the theme for 2008 will be Air Quality and Carbon Emissions.
The event will be held in association with the City of London and Westminster City Council as part of the Clear Zones partnership. It is also supported by Transport for London and the Chancery Lane Association business group. Camden will be the lead member for communications and marketing within the Clear Zone partnership.
As part of the arrangements the central section of Chancery Lane – between Carey Street and Southampton Buildings - will be closed to traffic between 7am and around 6pm.
A number of the retailers and occupiers in Chancery Lane will be taking advantage of the occasion to promote their wares and the road will feature stands handing out information and offering advice from Camden’s Transport Planning Team.
“Christmas in London’s historic legal district provided Chancery Lane with choristers and plenty of Christmas cheer, as well as retail and restaurant promotions all offered in conjunction with the Chancery Lane Association.”
